
Luke Curtin Signs PTO

BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have signed Left Wing / Center Luke Curtin to a professional tryout contract and added him to their roster under emergency circumstances.
Curtin, 26, joins Bridgeport from the ECHL's Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies with whom he was a teammate of current Sound Tigers Kevin Colley and Steve Munn, as well as former Sound Tigers Scott Stirling and Preston Mizzi. The 6'2'' 210-pounder from St. Paul, Minnesota was a member of Atlantic City's Kelly Cup Championship team last year and currently leads the Boardwalk Bullies in scoring with 33 goals, 45 assists and 78 points in 64 games. Curtin is fifth among all ECHL scorers with the 78 points and is tied with teammate Jon Cullen for second in the League with five shorthanded goals. Curtin, the sixth pick of the Colorado Avalanche in the 1996 NHL draft, has 362 games of professional-playing experience, including 24 in the AHL and International Hockey League.
The Sound Tigers will visit the Philadelphia Phantoms this Friday at 7:05 p.m. and the Norfolk Admirals this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and this Sunday at 4 p.m. in the final three games of seven straight on the road. All three games will be web cast live at www.soundtigers.com. Friday and Sunday's game will also be broadcast live on 600 WICC-AM, but Saturday's game is subject to pre-emption on WICC by University of Connecticut basketball.
The Sound Tigers' next home game at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard will be next Wednesday, March 31st when they will host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:05 p.m.
Sound Tigers individual-game tickets are on sale at the Harbor Yard box office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and on all game days, as well as on-line at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 203-368-1000.
