GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- Casey Hankinson had a goal and an assist to lead the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks to a 2-1 victory over the Grand Rapids Griffins Wednesday at Van Andel Arena.

Hankinson assisted on the game-opening goal by Keith Aucoin 14:36 into the second period and scored the eventual game-winner 2:34 later for the Ducks, who snapped a two-game winless streak (0-1-1-0) and moved three points ahead of Utah for the fifth and final playoff spot in the West Division.

Aucoin's goal, which came on the power-play, snapped a streak of 216:59 without a goal for Cincinnati in Grand Rapids.

Ilya Bryzgalov turned aside 25 shots in the victory.

Jiri Hudler scored a power-play goal late in the third period for Grand Rapids, which lost for the fifth time in its last seven games.

Joey MacDonald had 22 saves to suffer the loss, his first in his last eight starts against Cincinnati dating back to last season.

The Ducks play Chicago at 7:35 p.m. Friday at Cincinnati Gardens. Bill Hajt (Swords), Phil Hergesheimer (Mohawks) and Jerry Dowling (Cincinnati Enquirer) will be inducted into the Cincinnati Hockey Hall of Fame during the first intermission. The trio will also be available to sign autographs during the first intermission.
