Lugnuts Activate Kish, Place Cordero on the DL

LANSING, Mich. - The Lansing Lugnuts, in conjunction with the Toronto Blue Jays, announced Thursday that right-handed pitcher Phil Kish has been activated from the 7-day Disabled List with right-hander Jimmy Cordero placed on the 7-day DL retroactive to April 23rd in a corresponding move.

A native of New Smyrna Beach, FL, the 24-year-old Kish was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Blue Jays on June 15, 2013. In his professional debut, he posted a 1.39 ERA between 20 appearances in the Gulf Coast League and Appalachian League, recording 35 strikeouts compared to only nine walks. Kish had been on the Lugnuts' DL since Opening Day.

An updated Lugnuts roster is attached, comprising the maximum 25 active players and three players on the DL.

Lansing looks to complete a four-game home sweep of Lake County tonight at 7:05 p.m., sending reigning Midwest League Pitcher of the Week Kendall Graveman (1-0, 0.44) to the mound against Captains starter Mitch Brown (0-2, 5.40).
