Gretzky Joins Bees; Aguilera to Inland Empire

(Burlington, IA)- The Los Angeles Angels, class A affiliate of the Burlington Bees, announce the promotion of first baseman Eric Aguilera to High-A Inland Empire. Joining the Bees from, extended spring training, is outfielder Trevor Gretzky.

Aguilera played in 18 games for the Bees hitting .265 with two doubles, a triple, and seven runs batted in. Aguilera put together a season high 10 game-hitting streak and was held hitless in just two games. Aguilera is the first Bee this season to receive a promotion.

Taking Aguilera's place on the roster is outfielder Trevor Gretzky. Gretzky is the son of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky. The Chicago Cubs seventh round draft pick was traded to the Angels at the end of spring training for Matt Scioscia. Gretzky played in fourteen games in the Midwest League last season for the Kane County Cougars. Gretzky hit .306 with a triple and a homerun. The Los Angeles native started with Boise of the Northwest League, batting .256 in 27 games.
