Dragons Somsen Promoted to Bakersfield; Amezcua Returning

DAYTON, OHIO-The Dayton Dragons announced the following roster changes today:

Right-handed pitcher Layne Somsen has been promoted from Dayton to Bakersfield.

Right-handed pitcher Tony Amezcua has been sent from Bakersfield to Dayton.

The Dragons roster remains at the Midwest League limit of 25 players.

A new roster is attached.

Somsen appeared in seven games out of the Dayton bullpen, going 1-1 with a 0.87 earned run average.

Amezcua appeared in just two games with Bakersfield, allowing no runs in two and one-third innings. Amezcua spent the entire 2013 season with the Dragons, going 3-2 with a 5.95 ERA in 37 relief appearances.

The Dragons continue a seven-game road trip tonight at South Bend at 7:05 p.m. (EDT).
