
Lucca leads Patriots to 3-1 win over Riversharks

Bridgewater, NJ - The Somerset Patriots, led by a two home run performance by designated hitter Lou Lucca, defeated the Camden Riversharks 3-1 before 3,577 fans at Commerce Bank Ballpark on Thursday evening.
Somerset took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Right fielder Ryan Radmanovich drew a walk and scored on a two-run home run by Lucca (2).
Camden cut the lead to 2-1 with a run in the top of the seventh inning on a solo home run by third baseman Troy Cameron (12).
Lucca hit his second home run (3) of the game to give the Patriots an insurance run and a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Patriots starter Shane Heams (5-3) picked up the win, allowing two hits and striking out eight in six scoreless innings pitched. Riversharks starter Ben Simon (9-9) suffered the loss, allowing two earned runs on five hits and six strikeouts in six innings pitched. Patriots reliever Adam Larson earned his first save of the season with 1.1 scoreless innings pitched.
The 2005 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at Commerce Bank Ballpark for a 7:05 pm game against the Camden Riversharks on Friday evening. The game will include Notebooks for the first 1,500 kids in attendance courtesy of Somerset County Education Association. The game also features Youth Hockey Night with New Jersey Devils great Ken Daneyko.
