JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - The Lowell Spinners rallied for five runs in the final two innings to stun the Jamestown Jammers, 6-5, at Diethrick Park Friday night.

The Spinners scored four runs in the top of the eighth to tie the contest then Matt Marquis homered in the top of the ninth to snap Lowell's five-game losing streak. The loss drops the Jammers (28-27) five games back in the divisional race.

Jobduan Morales paced the offense with three hits including a triple and two RBI. Brian McConkey chipped in with two hits for a Jamestown offense that had struggled the past two days.

The Jammers struck first in the third inning after Marquise Cooper walked, stole second, moved to third on a throwing error and scored on a Ryan Goetz single.

Lowell would threaten multiple times, but the lead would hold until the top of the sixth inning when Lowell used two singles and a hit batter to tie the game.

However, Jamestown responded instantly with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. McConkey singled, Josh Adams walked and Morales singled to load the bases. Viosergy Rosa hit a sinking liner to left that Marquis made a spectacular diving catch to take a hit away, but McConkey tagged from third to give Jamestown the lead. Kentrell Dewitt and Marquise Cooper worked back-to-back walks to force in another run.

The Jammers tacked on two more runs in the seventh on a two-run triple by Morales to stretch the advantage to four.

That lead did not last long as the Spinners battled back and used a pivotal Jamestown error to tie the game after the first two men were retired.

Joantoni Garcia ripped a double then Keury De La Cruz laced a triple to right to score a run. Jose Garcia walked before Moko Moanaroa singled, which scored De La Cruz and sent Garcia to third. Goetz tried to throw out Garcia heading to third from right, but the throw skipped down the line to tie the game.

Jamestown didn't threaten in the eighth, and Marquis smacked a solo homer to left to give the Spinners the lead before the Jammers went quietly in the ninth.
