Lowe: âÃâ¬ÃÅWe're Going to Bring out the Fire in Our BellyâÃâ¬ÃÂ

Inter Miami CF News Release
Inter Miami CF defender Damion Lowe met with the media this afternoon to provide an update on how the squad has bounced back from exiting the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup earlier this week.
"It definitely brought us closer together. We have to overcome adversity. It's a cup tie, there has to be a winner and unfortunately, we weren't on the winning end. But we learned a lot from that situation and again, we're going to bring out the fire that's in our belly from the last game into this game to make our fans and the whole community proud."
Lowe also participated in a beach cleanup event earlier this week as part of the club's commitment to taking steps to address its environmental impact and noted how important it was that the team called South Florida home.
"They say in Jamaica 'cleanliness is next to godliness', and that is something that I believe in. It's always good to help out the community and just have a presence and show that you are willing to interact with the fans and help."
On Saturday, Lowe and his teammates will debut the 2022 adidas Primeblue jersey made with recycled ocean plastic, which was unveiled underwater around stingrays in the open ocean. Inter Miami CF Primeblue jerseys are available for purchase on MLSstore.com and will be available at the stadium team store beginning on Saturday, May 28 while supplies last.
The Jamaican international also hoped the Floridian weather would play a role as the team hosts the Timbers, and reaffirmed the team's excitement to continue their impressive run of form.
"I think we have [the weather] to our advantage when teams come here, so obviously I hope mother nature helps us to get these three points. But the guys are buzzing; we're in a good mood and in high spirits. We've just got to go out there and get the job done."
Head coach Phil Neville also remarked on wanting to continue the team's current streak ahead of the international break.
"We want to go out on a high, we want to finish by playing really well, with great togetherness. Every single player has banged on my office door and said 'I want to play" even though we just played 131 minutes. We've got great hunger. They want to fight for this football club. We're playing against a team that has good experience, who knows how to play on the road, who got to the MLS Cup final last season, and it'll be a really difficult game for us."
Neville also echoed Lowe's sentiment that playing in South Florida was an advantage for the squad, buoyed by the electric home support of the DRV PNK Stadium faithful.
"[Portland] has a tried-and-true system, they play with identity. It should be a really good game. Tomorrow night I'm sure our fans will turn up. I'm sure we'll get a big crowd, and we want to send them away happy. We want DRV PNK to be a fortress for us; that will be a key to our success."
