Louisville City FC Officially Re-Signs Goalkeeper Tim Dobrowolski
December 19, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Louisville City FC News Release
LOUISVILLE - Louisville City FC can today announce the return of goalkeeper Tim Dobrowolski for a fourth season in a LouCity shirt, pending league and federation clearance. The netminder returns having registered over 20 appearances in all competitions since 2016, including LouCity's incredible U.S. Open Cup run which saw them advance to the Quarterfinal stage of the tournament.
After signing on again with LouCity, Dobrowolski stressed his eagerness to return with this group:
"I'm absolutely thrilled to be back with Louisville. There's a culture here like none other and I know we will only improve from years past. I'm looking forward to getting after it down in Florida (in preseason)."
City coach John Hackworth is glad to have a player of Dobrowolski's quality back in the fold as he challenges for the number one position in goal:
"We are glad to have Tim return next year and are ready to reach the next level with him. He showed his ability this year both in the league and in the team's Open Cup success and now it's about getting better as we chase that third star. We know he's ready to go."
Stepping in goal for the injured Greg Ranjitsingh three times in USL play, Dobrowolski started twice and registered three total appearances across 253 minutes. Conceding just two goals from seven shots faced, "Dobro" helped City earn wins over Ottawa Fury FC, Atlanta United 2, and Toronto FC II as part of a closing stretch of 10 straight wins for Los Morados to end the regular season and USL Playoffs.
Experienced between the posts, Dobrowolski also tallied up 12 appearances in 2017, which included three clean sheets, as well as a pair of games in the 2016 USL season.
The goalkeeper will wear the No.1 shirt and return to join the team in February when its 2019 preseason camp begins at world renowned IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Dobrowolski becomes the 18th rostered player ahead of the 2019 USL season following the departure of goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh.
