Chesapeake Baysox News Release
BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox are planning a HUGE birthday blowout for their lovable mascot Louie. Louie's Birthday festivities will commence on Sunday, July 12, as the Baysox take on the Altoona Curve at 6:05 p.m. The party features mascot games, post-game fireworks and birthday cake, as well as special perks for Louie's Kids Club members.
Louie and his mascot pals will kick off the evening with on-field games. During the game, they will participate in between-inning activities and pose for photos with fans.
Louie's Birthday will be fun for everyone, but Kids Club members receive almost as many goodies as Louie. Members will be allowed into the park early to Play In The Park with Nickelodeon's Dora the Explorer. The costumed character will greet fans, sign autographs and pose for photos as gates open at 4:30 p.m. for club members. Louie's Kids Park will be open for free until gates open for everyone at 5 p.m.
Kids Club members will also get up close and personal with the Baysox. The first 50 Kids Club members to register will take the field with the team before the game. Members can contact Dana DeFilippo at (301) 464-4871 to register.
Every child that attends Louie's Birthday receives a free piece of birthday cake, and members of Louie's Kids Club also receive a goody bag. Club members will automatically be entered into a raffle to have Louie come to their birthday party!
The celebration is open to all fans. Kids Club members and their parents can purchase lower reserved seat tickets in Louie's Birthday Section for $11 (regularly $14). To purchase tickets in the birthday section, please contact Dana DeFilippo at (301) 464-4871.
Louie's Kids Club is FREE and easy to join! Fans ages 12 and under can sign up at any Baysox home game, or at www.baysox.com. The Baysox will host a special event for Kids Club members each month of the season and Kids Club members will receive a FREE gift for attending a game.
