LOUISVILLE, Ky. - A historic 2015 saw Louisville City FC broadcast every second of every game on YouTube.com, and the experience is back for 2016. The newly expanded broadcast team will see LouCity's official TV partner WLKY's sports director Fred Cowgill join 2015 returnees Bob Valvano and Jim Wombwell.

"Our 2016 broadcast team brings voices that are nationally recognized yet definitively Louisville," Louisville City president Amanda Duffy said. "The addition of WLKY's sports director Fred Cowgill will unquestionably enhance the call of Louisville City matches. To have the depth, knowledge and passion for Louisville and excitement toward Louisville City that Fred, Bob and Jim share will raise the Louisville City broadcast to a distinguished new level."

The trio will be a part of LouCity's home broadcasts, including a 10 minute pregame and 10 minute post game show.

Fred Cowgill

Cowgill, the play-by-play component, has been the Sports Director at WLKY for 29 years. In January, Cowgill was honored as the 2015-16 Kentucky Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. His resume includes 16 "Best of Louisville" Awards from Louisville Magazine as Louisville's Best TV Sportscaster, the most ever won by a television news personality in the history of the awards. He's also won five "Best of Kentucky" Awards from Kentucky Monthly and two "Kentucky Best Sportscaster" Awards from the Associated Press.

Cowgill has covered almost every major sporting event in the country in his 35 year career - including 29 Kentucky Derbys, 16 Final Fours and five NCAA basketball champions.

Bob Valvano

Valvano has hosted "The V Show" on ESPN Radio each weekend to more than 450 affiliates since 1998. In addition to his duties as a college basketball analyst on ESPN TV and Radio, he works as a game analyst for the University of Louisville basketball TV and radio broadcasts.

Host of ESPN 680 Louisville's "Bob Valvano Show," the New York native brings 16 years of experience behind a microphone and has been an analyst on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU. Entering 2016, Louisville City FC has returned 13 players from the 2015 roster - including reigning USL Goal of the Season winner Aodhan Quinn and former English Premier League striker Cameron Lancaster. New additions include MLS Cup-winning forward Chandler Hoffman, University of Louisville alumnus Paolo DelPiccolo and University of Kentucky alumnus George Davis IV.

Following the season-opening win against the Charlotte, LouCity now returns to Louisville Slugger Field on April 2 to host New York Red Bulls II in the home opener, with a special 3 p.m. kickoff.
