Ottawa Lynx News Release

Lou Collier was the hero for the Lynx again tonight: three hits, two runs batted in, including the game winner in the bottom of the 10th inning. The Lynx dropped the Paw Sox 5-4.

The improve boosts the Lynx to 21-20 while the Red Sox fall to 16-25.

Lynx Player Of The Game: Lou Collier had three singles and a walk, scoring a run and driving in a couple to lead the Lynx over Pawtucket.

Game Recap: The Lynx took their second straight game over the Paw Sox due to a fast start and a great finish. Ottawa got on the board in the bottom of the first inning when Lou Collier got a two-out single, scoring on Gary Burnham's RBI double. They'd score again in the bottom of the third inning when Joe Thurston led off with his first triple of the season and scored on Lou Collier's single. Pawtucket evened the score with two in the fourth and took the lead with another run in the top of the sixth. The Sox even added an insurance run in the top of the eighth. But the Lynx came back with a last-gasp comeback in the bottom of the ninth. Gary Burnham got things started with a two-out single before being replaced by pinch-runner Carlos Leon. Leon took second base on defensive indifference, scoring on Brennan King's RBI single to cut the deficit in half. Jason Jaramillo tied the game with his RBI single, scoring King. The contest went to a 10th inning where Kane Davis came into the game with the bases loaded and two down. Davis retired the only batter he faced, setting the stage for Collier's heroics. Danny Sandoval notched a leadoff single and moved to second on Chris Roberson's sacrifice bunt. After Pawtucket intentionally walked Joe Thurston to set up the double play, Lou Collier singled to centrefield, cashing Sandoval and earning the win for the Lynx.

Next Game: The Lynx and Red Sox meet up at Lynx Stadium for the fourth and final game of their four-game series in a Tuesday School Day matinee. Game time is 11:05 am.

Probable Pitchers: Tuesday vs. Pawtucket, 11:05 am, Ottawa RHP Heath Totten (1-1, 2.77) takes on Pawtucket LHP Abe Alvarez (2-3, 5.58).
