Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
Ten-year old Cameron Chavez, who was shot in the arm saving his family in a home invasion in Los Lunas last month, will be a special guest of the Albuquerque Isotopes this Saturday, June 23.
On May 23, two masked intruders forced their way into Cameron's home and threatened the boy, his mother, and two siblings at gunpoint until Cameron thwarted the attack, saving his family. Although his injury cut his Little League baseball season short, Cameron will still have the opportunity take the field again and be honored for his heroics, interacting with Isotopes players and coaches while watching batting practice as well as throwing out the game's ceremonial first pitch.
Cameron and his family will then settle in to watch the "ËTopes take on the Nashville Sounds, followed by a post-game fireworks show.
The Isotopes continue their action-packed homestand tonight with a Rally Towel giveaway courtesy of Webster University. Tomorrow, the "ËTopes kick off the weekend in style with a camo hat giveaway before the skies light up with a fireworks extravaganza on Saturday. Tickets for any Isotopes game may be purchased at the Isotopes Park Box Office, at Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 1-800-745-3000, or on-line at www.albuquerquebaseball.com or www.ticketmaster.com .
