Springfield, MO - 2B Irving Lopez delivered the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the 9th, propelling the 1st-place Springfield Cardinals (17-13, 51-48) to their second straight walk-off win against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (14-15, 43-55), 5-4, on Thursday night at Hammons Field. Springfield expands its lead for 1st place in the North Division 2nd Half Standings to 1.5 games above Arkansas and 2.5 games above Northwest Arkansas.

Notables:

2B Irving Lopez came through with the game-winning RBI single in the 9th after tying the game initially with an RBI sac fly in the 5th... 3B Thomas Saggese sparked the 9th-inning rally with a leadoff double, scoring the winning run on Lopez's single... CF Victor Scott II (3x5) and SS Arquimedes Gamboa (3x4) both notched three-hit games... Scott added two more steals and is up to 22 with Springfield and 72 bags on the year, 2nd-most in MiLB... With NW Arkansas down, 4-2, in the top of the 9th, Naturals 2B Peyton Wilson tied it with a two-run double, forcing the bottom of the 9th before the Cardinals walked off.
