
Lopez Leads Lake County to Victory Over Kenosha

Zion, IL -Third Baseman Franklin Lopez went 4 for 5 with 3 runs scored and 2 stolen bases; leading the Lake County Fielders to a 8-5 win Wednesday evening over the Kenosha County FIelders.
Lake County got things going early with a two-run double by catcher Brandon Pearl in the first-inning. Lake County would then add a run in the fourth, two in the sixth and three more in the eighth.
Douglas Coe got the start for Lake County, going five innings while allowing two runs on six hits. Coe was helped by his bullpen; as Todd Holmes, Chris Malec, Michael Martin, and Matt Atkins all came in on relief.
Kenosha starter Andrew Paulauskas went six innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out seven. Reliever Chris Wilcott came in to pitch the seventh and eighth and gave up all three runs in the eighth innings for the loss.
Outfielder Boe Baitinger led the offensive charge for Kenosha County, going 2 for 5 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Kenosha now leads the season series five games to two. Game 8 in the "Border Battle" series is Thursday evening at 7 pm at Fielders Stadium in Zion, Illinois. All games can be heard live on 1220 AM WKRS, wkrs.com, or at fieldersbaseball.com with Derek Diesner on the call.
