Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Lookouts blasted a bevy of hits in the second inning to take the early lead and never looked back in a 7-5 win over the Montgomery Biscuits in Monday night action at AT&T Field.

The Lookouts busted out in a big way in the second frame. Andrew Lambo and Eddy Perez hit back-to-back doubles, while Scott Van Slyke singled to add to the hit parade. The rally continued on a subsequent throwing error by second baseman Drew Anderson on a ball hit by Corey Smith. With the score at 2-0, Jessie Mier slammed a double to left field to put the score at 3-0 with runners sitting in scoring position. After two strikeouts, a wild pitch by Montgomery starting pitcher Alexander Torres (1-1) enabled Smith to score from third.

A trio of singles from Trayvon Robinson, Lambo, and Perez formulated a two-run inning in the third to put the Lookouts up, 5-0.

Montgomery finally entered the scoreboard in the fifth frame, courtesy of a three-run shot by Ryan Royster. The Lookouts added another run in the sixth on a Dee Gordon RBI single, but the Biscuits continued to chip away by plating two on a Matt Fields single in the eighth.

Javy Guerra retired the final out in the eighth and retired the side in the ninth to hemorrhage any further bleeding, while picking up his third save of the season.

Chris Withrow (1-1) earned the win for the Lookouts by throwing six innings of three-run baseball. He surrendered three hits and two walks, while striking out four in the victory.

The Chattanooga Lookouts and Montgomery Biscuits will continue their five-game series at 7:15 P.M., tomorrow. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
