Lookouts Draw Sellout Crowd of 6,387 in Loss

August 4, 2018 - Southern League (SL1)
Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

Jaylin Davis hit two home runs in the Lookouts 6-2 loss against the Mississippi Braves in front of a sellout crown of 6,387 on Used Car Night at AT&T Field. Tonight's crowd was the team's largest since August 31, 2013.

The Braves racked up quick two runs in the second inning to take the early lead. Chattanooga added a run in the second and one in the fifth on Davis' solo homers. Davis is now 32-for-80 (.400) with four home runs in 20 games at AT&T Field this season. Those home runs were the only runs Braves starting pitcher Enderson Franco would allow. He ended up only allowing those two runs over seven innings.

Mississippi broke up the tie in the eighth inning on a Tyler Neslony RBI single. They added three more runs to increase their lead to four. Lookouts starting pitcher Omar Bencomo took the loss despite allowing only one earned run in 5.1 relief innings.

Tomorrow, the teams return for a 2:15 p.m. game on Autograph Sunday presented by Academy Sports + Outdoor. Sean Poppen aims to improve on his 1.88 second half ERA. Gates for the Sunday matinee open at 1:00 p.m.
