CHATTANOOGA, TN - In front of a sellout crowd of 6,387 at AT&T Field on Saturday, the Mississippi Braves took down the Chattanooga Lookouts 6-2, behind another stellar start from Enderson Franco, and two clutch doubles from Alejandro Salazar.

It was Used Car Giveaway Night in Chattanooga on Saturday and the M-Braves dealt the Lookouts a clunker on the scoreboard to earn their first win in the series. The win improved the Braves to 22-10 on the weekend this season and 13-5 on Saturday's.

Mississippi (22-20, 51-61) took their first lead of the series in the second inning with the first of two doubles from Salazar. Jonathan Morales, who was activated just prior to the game, walked before the double and scored. Later in the inning, Luis Valenzuela brought home Salazar with a single to put the Braves up 2-0.

Jaylin Davis provided Chattanooga's (17-24, 53-57) only offense on the night, blasting two home runs off of Enderson Franco in the second inning and fifth inning to tie the game at two.

That would be Franco's only blemishes, pitching 7.0 innings for the second consecutive start and third time this season. The 25-year-old allowed two runs on five hits with one walk and five strikeouts on 97 pitches. Over his last two starts, Franco has given up just two runs on six hits with 13 strikeouts and one walk.

The M-Braves made Franco a winner by breaking the tie in the top of the eighth inning and sent eight batters to the plate. Cristian Pache started the frame with his first Double-A triple, and then Ray-Patrick Didder was hit by a pitch. After a pitching change, Tyler Neslony singled home Pache and the Braves led 3-2. Jonathan Morales reached on a two-base error committed by Chattanooga third baseman Chris Paul and it was 4-2 Braves. The knockout punch came from Salazar with a double off the wall in left-center that scored two more runs to cap off the four-run inning. The Braves led 6-2.

Corbin Clouse struck out three over 2.0 scoreless innings to slam the door on the victory. Chattanooga reliever Omar Bencomo (L, 6-6) was saddled with the loss after 5.1 innings of two-run ball.

Salazar finished the night 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. The 21-year-old who was named the M-Braves Player of the Month for July has hit in seven of his last eight games. Neslony and Brandon Downes also collected two hits in the game.

The M-Braves and Lookouts will play game four of the five-game series on Sunday afternoon at AT&T Field. LHP Ricardo Sanchez (1-4, 5.35) starts for the M-Braves against another to be determined starter for Chattanooga. First pitch is set for 1:15 pm CT with coverage beginning at 1:00 pm CT on 103.9 WYAB and the free TuneIn Radio App.

The Braves have just ten remaining home games in the 2018 season. We return home for a five-game series against the Chattanooga Lookouts, August 14-18.
