LONG ISLAND - The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have acquired forward Jaiden Delaire from the available player pool to replace center Patrick Gardner while he plays for the Egyptian National Team in the upcoming FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments.
Delaire (6'9", 215) appeared in four NBA G League Showcase Cup games this season with Maine, recording averages of 2.8 points and 1.5 rebounds in 9.5 minutes per game. Prior to starting his NBA G League career, he played four collegiate seasons (2018-22) at Stanford, where he posted averages of 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds in 19.8 minutes per contest in 118 games (50 starts). The North Granby, Conn., native received All Pac-12 Honorable Mention honors and was named the Pac-12 Most Improved Player during his junior season with the Cardinal. Delaire then played his fifth season (2022-23) at the University of San Diego, where he appeared in 12 games (10 starts) and recorded averages of 9.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 27.0 minutes per game.
