Capital City Go-Go News Release
The Capital City Go-Go, the NBA G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards, were defeated by the Osceola Magic, 123-107, in the first matchup between the two teams since the Magic relocated to Osceola.
The Go-Go held off the Magic in the first quarter, outscoring Osceola, 30-26, to begin the game. The teams stayed neck-and-neck through the end of the half, with the Go-Go leading a balanced scoring effort to stay ahead of the Magic 61-59. The Magic pulled ahead in the third quarter, making nine three-pointers and went on to defeat the Go-Go 123-107.
Washington Wizards two-way player Jules Bernard led the Go-Go in scoring with 20 points and added four steals. Hamidou Diallo was the next-highest scorer with 18 points and six rebounds. Michael Foster Jr. led the Go-Go in rebounds with nine and Wizards two-way Jared Butler led the Go-Go in assists with seven. Center Jake Stephens started in his third-straight game, scoring in double figures for the second-straight game, finishing the night with 10 points and eight rebounds in 15 minutes of play.
The Magic's D.J. Wilson led the night in scoring and rebounds with the lone double-double of the night, scoring 27 points with 11 rebounds. Miye Oni led the night in assists with eight.
The Go-Go will face the Long Island Nets next Saturday when they host the team at 7:00 p.m. at the Entertainment and Sports Arena. Tickets for the game are available via Ticketmaster.
