Long Island Nets Acquire Alex Robinson

LONG ISLAND - The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have acquired guard Alex Robinson from the available player pool after guard Marcus Zegarowski suffered a season-ending right plantar fasciitis injury.

Robinson (6'1", 180) has appeared in 34 career NBA G League games (four starts) over two seasons with Iowa (2019-20), Santa Cruz (2019-20), Canton (2019-20), Wisconsin (2021-22) and Fort Wayne (2021-22), recording averages of 4.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 15.8 minutes per game. In seven games this season with Fort Wayne and Wisconsin, he posted averages of 4.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 18.6 minutes per game. The guard has also played one season (2020-21) internationally with BC Hallmann Vienna in Austria, where he averaged 12.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 30.8 minutes per contest over 10 games (nine starts). Prior to his professional career, the Fort Worth, Texas, native spent one season (2014-15) at Texas A&M, where he averaged 5.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 18.8 minutes per game over 34 games prior to transferring to TCU, where he appeared in 107 games (89 starts) and averaged 11.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists in 33.3 minutes per game. Robinson earned All-Big 12 Third Team honors during his final season with the Horned Frogs.
