Bey's Career-High Night Leads Vipers Dominance over Sioux Falls 125-89

EDINBURG, Texas. - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (21-6), the NBA G League affiliate of the Houston Rockets, swept the Sioux Falls Skyforce (12-16) 125-89 on Thursday night at the Bert Ogden Arena.

RGV fed off of Anthony Lamb as he shot 3 for 3 in three pointers in the first two minutes of the contest. The Vipers grew their lead after hitting six total three pointers early in the first quarter, 18-10 over the Skyforce. With 1:51 remaining in the quarter Mychal Mulder had made 17 out of 21 points for Sioux Falls and Anthony Lamb had 15 out of 28 points for the Vipers. At the end of the first, Mulder had scored 22 out of 26 points for the Skyforce. Lamb and Vital had a combined score of 26 points out of 36 for the Vipers.

The second quarter kicked off with a score of 36-26 in favor of the Vipers but RGV went on to extend its lead 66-51. Vital, Lamb and Mfiond Kabangele accounted for more than half of the teams score at the half. Mulder was responsible for more than half of Sioux Falls points as he totaled 28 out of 51 points.

The third quarter was a dominant one for the Vipers as they led over the Skyforce by 32 points with a score of 98-66. RGV extended its lead and obtained a 125-89 win over the Skyforce.

All seven of the Vipers hit double figures in scoring. Lamb led the way with 26 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Kabengele hit a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Marcus Foster contributed 17 points. Tyler Bey also posted a double-double with 16 points and a career-high 21 rebounds. Gerald Green totaled 16 points. Vital obtained a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Marvin Smith totaled 15 points.

Mulder paved the way for the Skyforce with a career-high 39 points. Micah Potter secured a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Mario Chalmers also posted 11 points.

RGV returns to the Bert Ogden Arena on Saturday, March 19 to take on the Memphis Hustle. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM CT. Fans unable to attend may stream the game via the NBAGLeague.com website.
