Coats Split Series with Charge, Drop Second Game Wednesday Night
March 18, 2022 - NBA G League (G League)
Delaware Blue Coats News Release
After taking down the Charge in their previous matchup the day prior, the Delaware Blue Coats came up just short of the back-to-back series sweep in Cleveland, falling 147-137.
It was an uncharacteristic game for defensive-minded Delaware team, allowing 147 total points to the Charge who are in the bottom half of the league for per game scoring. Cleveland exploded for 44 points in the second frame, and while Delaware scored 72 in the second half and brought the game within 8 points late, the lead was too great to overcome.
Key Players
Aaron Henry
Aaron Henry regained some personal momentum on the offensive end in this one; he scored 22 points in 33 minutes of action, marking his first 20+ point performance since March 8.
Shamorie Ponds
Ponds was the Coats' leading scorer, recording 29 points off the bench. From beyond the three-point arc, he shot 5-9.
