Long Island Holds on to Victory After Late Wisconsin Run

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Long Island Nets defeated the Wisconsin Herd, 126-120, in front of a sold-out crowd at Menominee Nation Arena on Friday night. The Nets, who led by as many as 17-points in the game, held off a late 16-7 fourth quarter run by Wisconsin to secure the victory.

Long Island outperformed Wisconsin on both ends of the floor, shooting 51.1 percent from the field (47-92) and 40 percent from beyond the arc (12-30), while also grabbing 60 rebounds (46 defensive).

Leading the way for the Nets was two-way player Alan Williams, who finished with 28 points and 21 rebounds, both game-high totals. Two-way player, Theo Pinson, also had an impressive performance, posting a triple-double with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists. The Nets had a third 20-point scorer, Mitchell Creek, who tallied 24 points, including two free throws in the final 10 seconds of the game to seal the win for Long Island.

Travis Trice led the scoring effort for the Herd with 24 points, to go along with seven rebounds and six assists. Bucks assignee, Donte DiVincenzo, added 17 points and six rebounds for Wisconsin.

The Herd will be back in action tomorrow night (7 p.m. CT) at Menominee Nation Arena against the Grand Rapids Drive. The Nets continue their road trip facing off against the Capital City Go-Go tomorrow night.
