The Week Ahead...

Wednesday, January 26th vs. Manchester Monarchs

Sunday, January 30th @ Manchester Monarchs

The Lock Monsters host the league leading Monarchs in the sixth match up between the two teams this season. After falling behind in the series 0-1-0-1, the Lock Monsters have posted three consecutive wins to take the series edge. The two teams last met in Manchester, as the Lock Monsters skated away with a 3-1 victory.

Friday, January 28th @ Worcester IceCats, Saturday, January 29th vs. Worcester IceCats

The Lock Monsters will play a home and home series against the Division rivals this weekend, with a home contest on Saturday night. Netminder Cam Ward posted his second shutout of the season in the teams' last meeting, a 3-0 win in Worcester. The IceCats currently stand tied for third place in the Altantic Division with the Lock Monsters.

A Look Back

The Lock Monsters extended their road win streak to four games, and their overall streak to seven games, with a 3-2 win over the Springfield Falcons on Friday. Eric Staal registered his third three-point outing of the season, notching a short handed tally and assisting on each of Lowell's remaining goals. Cam Ward picked up the win for Lowell, his third consecutive, making 27 saves.

The streak was snapped on Saturday, as the Wolf Pack posted five unanswered goals to hand Lowell a 6-4 loss. The Lock Monsters jumped out to an early lead with three first period goals, before allowing a goal to end the first 3-1. The Lock Monsters picked up their only remaining goal of the night at 6:40 of the second, as Mike Commodore notched Lowell's second shorthanded tally in as many nights. That would be all of the offense the Lock Monsters could muster, as Hartford replaced goaltender Jason LaBarbera with Steve Valiquette, and Lowell went scoreless through the remainder of the game. Hartford would cut the deficit in half at the end of second, then post four unanswered goals in the third, to skate away with a 6-4 win.
