Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings News Release
Harlingen, TX - Sunday's potential playoff preview between the first half champion Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings and the defending champion Alexandria Aces has been bought out by Faith Pleases God Church. They have 500 left over tickets, which will be given away on a first come, first serve basis at the Harlingen Field box office starting at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The first 1,000 kids in attendance at the game will receive free back to school supplies as part of the Church's Pack the Bus promotion.
Though the game will start at 7:05 p.m., there will be a charity softball game and a concert beforehand.
The softball game will feature the Harlingen and Brownsville police departments at 4:00 p.m. Harlingen will be playing for the Cameron County Child Advocacy Center while Brownsville will be playing for a paralyzed child.
At 5:00 p.m., the Church will be holding a free concert in the parking lot.
"This will be one of the biggest days in Harlingen Field history. We are expecting a crowd of over 5,000 people to attend the softball game, concert and WhiteWings game. Thanks to Faith Pleases God Church, we should have the biggest crowd this stadium has ever seen," WhiteWings General Manager Cory Dirksen said.
