SAN ANGELO, Texas - On the strength of three solo home runs, two by catcher Cameron McGuire, the Edinburg Coyotes (15-22) handled the San Angelo Colts (19-19) 4-1 on Saturday night in front of 2,210 at Foster Field. The three-game series is now even at one game apiece and the two teams will conclude the season series on Sunday.

The first of the three homers came in the second inning when McGuire, who has three home runs in the series, led off the frame with a solo shot to make it 1-0 Edinburg. After Rodney Medina flied out, Alexis Hernandez hit a solo homer to left field off Colts starter Darryll Roque, who has surrendered the most home runs in the league (15) after tonight.

The Coyotes took a 3-0 edge when McGuire launched the first pitch of the fourth inning over the center-field wall for his second dinger of the contest.

San Angelo got on the board against Coyotes starter Bryan Heaston in the fifth to cut the lead to 3-1. Jose Torres began the inning with a double, went to third on a groundout, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jason Diaz.

Heaston (3-4) allowed just that one run on five hits with five strikeouts and three walks in seven innings of work for the victory. Roque took the loss in his longest outing of the season, falling to 3-8 on the year. The right-hander lasted 8 2/3 innings, surrendering four runs, three earned, on eight hits with eight strikeouts and one walk.

Roque left the game in the ninth after giving up an unearned run, as Hernandez scored on an error by the second baseman Diaz to give Edinburg a 4-1 advantage.

After Adam Clay pitched a scoreless eighth, Julio Castro hurled a 1-2-3 ninth inning with two strikeouts for his 18th save of the season.
