- The Toledo Mud Hens will be flying a very special flag during the Fourth of July. In February of 2011, the city of Wauseon announced that the Port Authority of New York had granted them a piece of steel from the World Trade Center. The piece of steel was brought back to Wauseon draped in the stars and stripes. The very same flag that covered that cold piece of steel was sent to SPC Colby Bradley from Sylvania, Ohio who was stationed in Konduz, Afghanistan on June 23, 2011. The flag became known as Old Glory. The Army Airborne Ranger carried the flag with him on 19 special operations throughout Afghanistan. Old Glory was then handed down to SPC Colby Bradley's brother, also an Airborne Ranger, SPC Kyle Bradley who brought the flag from Bagram, Afghanistan to Savannah, Georgia. Both brothers hand delivered Old Glory to the Fulton County Fireman's Association. SPC Kyle Bradley will be joining the Hens on the fourth to throw out a ceremonial first pitch. The steel beam from the World Trade Towers will be on display on St. Clair Street beyond the outfield fence.
- Stay in your seat for a double dose of fireworks! The Mud Hens postgame fireworks will begin shortly after the conclusion of the game. The City of Toledo fireworks, which can be seen from the ballpark, will begin at approximately 10 p.m.
