(Vancouver) The Canadian Football League announced today the D-lineman Cam Wake has been selected as the Defensive Player of the Week and slotback Jason Clermont has earned Canadian of the Week honours.

Wake was a terror on the day, notching seven tackles, four sacks and a forced fumble in the Leos' 35-12 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last Saturday. This is Cam's second Defensive Player of the Week award with the first coming in Week 2. He was also named the CFL Defensive Player of the Month for July and currently leads the league in sacks with 13.

Clermont enjoyed his best game of the season with an eight-catch, 132-yard performance which included a 34-yard rumble through the Hamilton secondary. This is Jason's first Canadian of the Week award in 2008.

The BC Lions take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders in a key West Division match-up at BC Place on Saturday, September 13 at 7:00 pm presented by RONA. For more information on the BC Lions Football Club please visit our website at bclions.com.
