Sioux City Explorers News Release

Sioux City-----Lincoln scored three un-earned runs in the eighth inning as they defeated the Explorers 6-2 in the first game of a three-game series at Lewis and Clark Park.

The un-earned runs came when the Explorers made two of their season high three errors. Matt Forgatch drove in the three runs in the eighth on a bases loaded double.

After Lincoln's Michael Coles hit a two-run home run in the third inning to give the Saltdogs a 2-0 lead, the Explorers scored single runs in the fourth and sixth innings to tie the contest. Peter Barrows drove in the first run with a double in the fourth and Luke Murton tied the game with a RBI double in the sixth. Both Barrows and Murton had two each apiece in a losing effort.

Andy Noga went the distance for the second time this season, but lost his tenth game of the year.

The second game of the series will be play Saturday at Lewis and Clark Park with game time set for 7:05pm.
