Rockford Lightning News Release

Rockford, IL- Pending league approval, the Rockford Lightning announce the return of another former Bolt to Rockford. Livan Pyfrom, who last played for the Lightning in 2002-03, will be wearing the Lightning colors once again.

The 7-0 center from Creighton has spent two previous seasons in the CBA, starting in 2001-02. Pyfrom played 13 games with three different teams, the Gary Steelheads, Sioux Falls Skyforce and Saskatchewan Hawks. He played the entire season for the Lightning in '02-'03, averaging nine points and 9.3 rebounds per game. He also accumulated 155 blocked shots during the season. In Rockford's four playoff games that year, he averaged five points and 5.8 rebounds per game.

"Livan gives us another shot blocker so we can sub for Keith Closs. He understands our system and it's nice that for all 48 minutes we'll have a shot blocker on the floor," says Lightning Head Coach Chris Daleo. In his senior season at Creighton, he was second in the Missouri Valley Conference in blocked shots.

The Bolts go on the road this weekend to face Eastern Conference rival Gary in a 7:05 p.m. tip-off this Saturday, January 8. The following day, January 9, Rockford returns home to face the Idaho Stampede in a Sunday afternoon matinee. Tip off is at 1:05 p.m., with the first 1,000 fans receiving a Stais Boseman player poster, the second poster giveaway of the year. Agnus Jackson will be returning to play a concert before and after Sunday's game, and fans can also enjoy the Milwaukee Bucks "Energee Dance Team" at halftime. Order your tickets by calling the MetroCentre box office at 815-968-5222.
