Daleo To Coach In Italy This Summer
May 30, 2006 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1)
Rockford Lightning News Release
For the past ten years players from Europe, the United Sates and even from as far as
Australia have traveled to Treviso, Italy in order to play in the Treviso Summer
League. These players know that the Treviso Summer League is "the place to be" if
you want to be seen, scouted and signed by some of the top basketball clubs in
Europe. This year, the Rockford Lightning will have a representative on Treviso's
courts.
The three-time CBA All-Star Coach was one of eight Head Coaches named to be at
Treviso this year. The Summer League lasts one week from June 28 until July 1.
This will be quite a stretch for Coach Daleo because he returns from a two-week tour
in China on June 21. "I am very excited with this great opportunity," said Daleo.
"It is an honor to be selected as Head Coach. I want to work hard, win games and
represent the Lightning and the CBA to the best of my abilities."
Sixteen games will be played over the four-day period. Each team will also have
practice time. "Over the past two years through the game of basketball, I have
developed some great friendships with great Italian Coaches and teachers. I am
looking forward to seeing each of them and learning even more about the game of
professional basketball."
