Birch Run, MI (January 9, 2005) – The Great Lakes Storm won the game tonight against the Gary Steelheads 109-93 (6.0, 1.0) to move to 14-11 on the season. Gary was unable to take out another top team in the Eastern Conference after beating Rockford last night. Gary dropped to 9-12 on the season.

After a big win last night against the Skyforce, Coach Bergman was hoping his players would not let down against the visiting Steelheads. Great Lakes stormed out to a quick 19-6 lead in the first five minutes of the game. The Steelheads answered with 13 straight points and tied things up quickly. The Storm would take the first quarter 32-27 behind 10 points from Mark Jones. Gary bounced back in the second quarter as they went into halftime trailing by only two 50-48, taking the second quarter 21-18. The Storm pushed the lead to as many as 16 points in the third behind eight points from Jones. The Storm easily won the quarter 33-22. The Steelheads came as close as seven points in the fourth quarter, however, Jones was too much as he added 10 of his game-high 32 points in the final stanza. The Storm won the final quarter 26-23.

The Storm's next game is on Tuesday, January 11th on the road against the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Tip-off is set for 7:05 at the Sioux Falls Arena.

Trevor Huffman 15 points, 8 assists

GARY: Lonnie Jones 24 points, 11 rebounds
David Graves 21 points, 4 rebounds
