
"Lien" On Me, Braves Win 5-4

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves snapped their six game losing streak by defeating the West Virginia Power by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday night before a crowd of 2,494.
The Braves hopped on the board in the third when a throwing error plated Connor Lien for the 1-0 score. The Power took the lead in the fourth on an RBI single by Justin Maffei, a run scoring ground out by Elvis Escobar, and a wild pitch that sent Danny Collins home from third making the score 3-1. Rome regained the lead in the bottom of the inning with three runs on a two run single from Lien and a fielding error that plated Carlos Franco. West Virginia tied the game in the ninth on a two out RBI double by Harold Ramirez. Rome rallied in the bottom of the ninth as Victor Caratini reached base on a single and with one out Carlos Franco doubled putting runners at second and third. Lien then chopped a single between third and shortstop to score Caratini for the 5-4 victory. Lien had three hits and two RBI in the game.
Steve Janas (1-0) gets the win in his first appearance with Rome while Brett McKinney (1-2) is charged with the loss.
