Liam Reddox Recalled By The Edmonton Oilers

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have recalled left winger Liam Reddox from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League and placed defenceman Ladislav Smid on the NHL Injured Reserve List.

The 5'11", 180 pound forward from Whitby, Ontario is currently tied for second on the Springfield scoring list with 5-4-9 in 12 games and has registered two penalty minutes. Reddox's five goals ties him for second on the Falcons and he is sixth in assists. Three of his five goals have come on special teams as he leads Springfield with one shorthanded goal and is second on the Falcons with two powerplay markers.

Reddox is scoreless in one career NHL game, having made his debut with the Oilers on December 7, 2007 versus the St. Louis Blues.

Smid has missed the Oilers last four games (November 6-13). He has scored two assists and registered 11 penalty minutes in eight games with Edmonton this season.

Reddox will wear sweater #85 with the Oilers.

The Oilers host the Colorado Avalanche in the final game of a two-game homestand at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15th at Rexall Place.
