Amerks Host Chicago Tonight At The Blue Cross Arena

Tonight, the Rochester Americans close out their season-long six-game homestand as the defending Calder Cup champion Chicago Wolves make their first and only appearance at The Blue Cross Arena this season. The contest will be the first of two scheduled meetings between the two teams and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live. Faceoff for the non-divisional matchup is slated for 7:35 p.m.

Promotions: The Amerks are hosting AAA Discount Night, where all AAA members can present their membership cards to The Blue Cross Arena Box Office to receive 100-End Seating for $12.00 each (Reg. Price $18.25) or 200-End Seating for $9.00 each (Reg. Price $14.25). The game also falls on Go For Green Night. Those who bring a recyclable to the Box Office will get $3.00 off premium seating. Lastly, the Amerks, along with students from St. John Fisher College, have partnered to hold a clothing drive. Fans can bring a new or gently used piece of clothing and receive a $3.00 discount off premium seating. All pieces of clothing will be donated to Saints Place in Pittsford.

Head-to-Head: Rochester was 0-1-0-1 last season and is 5-3-2 all-time against the Atlanta Thrashers' affiliate.

Amerks Notes: Rochester (2-11-0-0, 4 points) enters the contest after dropping a 5-1 decision, its second in four nights, to the Manitoba Moose Monday at The Blue Cross Arena. Kenndal McArdle, who's coming off a five-game point streak, remains the Amerks' top point-getter with eight points (3+5), while his five assists also ties him for the team lead with rookie defenseman Jason Garrison. First-year right winger Michael Duco currently ranks third in the American Hockey League and first on the team with 76 penalty minutes (PIM) with McArdle a distant second with 47 PIM for second on the team and 14th in the league, respectively. Defenseman Jordan Henry leads the team with a plus-minus rating of plus-three. Garrison reigns as Rochester's top scoring defenseman with six points (1+5) in 12 games.

Player Moves: On Wednesday, defenseman Doug O'Brien was reassigned to the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. In other moves, the Florida Panthers have reassigned goaltender David Shantz to the Amerks from the Dayton Bombers (ECHL). In addition, the Panthers have reassigned goaltender Tyler Plante to Dayton from Rochester. O'Brien registered two assists and eight PIM in 12 appearances with the Amerks this season. Shantz began the season with the Dayton Bombers of the ECHL where he posted a 2.35 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage to go along with one shutout en route to a 4-2-1 record in seven games between the pipes. Plante leaves Rochester after seeing time in six games for the Amerks this season, boasting an 0-5-0 record with a 5.10 goals-against average and a .850 save percentage while making 113 saves.

Chicago Notes: Chicago, playing Game 3 of its current six-game road trip, comes into the matchup the winners of four straight and five of its last six games. The Wolves' most recent win came in a 3-2 shootout victory over the Manchester Monarchs last Sunday night at Verizon Wireless Arena. Fourth-year pro Joe Motzko currently paces Chicago's offense with a team-high six goals and 10 points, while rookie Matt Anderson leads the team with seven assists and a plus-11 rating. His nine points (2+7) is good enough for 15th among league rookies and his plus-11 rating is fourth best, respectively. Chicago presently holds a first-place standing in the American Hockey League's West Division with a 9-2-1-1 record and 20 points.

Next Game: The Amerks' weekend continues as the team travels north of the border to Copps Coliseum for back-to-back tilts with the Hamilton Bulldogs on Saturday, November 15th and Sunday, November 16th Faceoff for Saturday night is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start with Sunday's matinee contest kicking off at 4:00 p.m. Both games will be carried live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live.

Next Home Game: Rochester returns home on Wednesday, November 19th as it hosts the Toronto Marlies for a 7:05 p.m. North Division matchup at The Blue Cross Arena.
