Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
Left-handed pitcher Colt Hynes will join the Albuquerque Isotopes today, April 7, and in a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Tyson Brummett has been sent to Double-A Chattanooga. Hynes was acquired in a trade with the Cleveland Indians yesterday and added to the Dodgers' 40-man roster before being optioned to Albuquerque.
The 28-year-old Hynes appeared in 22 games last season for the Padres in his first big league action, striking out 13 batters in 17.0 innings. The southpaw made his Major League debut July 14, tossing a perfect ninth inning to secure the Padres' 10-1 win against the San Francisco Giants.

In a combined seven minor league seasons, he claims a 21-25 record with a 3.59 ERA in 323 games (21 starts). The Oklahoma City native was originally selected by San Diego in the 31st round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft out of Texas TechUniversity. Hynes was acquired by the Indians from San Diego on Oct. 31, 2013, and spent Spring Training with Cleveland.
The Isotopes return to actiontonight with a four-game series in Reno against the Aces. Right-hander Henry Sosa is slated to take the hill for Albuquerque with first pitch scheduled for 7:35 p.m. MT.
