April 16, 2018 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Lexington Legends News Release
WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) - The Lexington Legends are seeking local artists to perform during Friday Night Live events throughout the season. The Legends will be holding auditions for Friday Night Live, beginning Friday April 20 at 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 21 at 4 p.m. in front of the Kentucky Ale Taproom at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
Friday Night Live will occur every Friday home game, featuring local songwriters and performers. The live music will begin when gates open, allowing fans to listen to the performers before the game starts creating an energetic atmosphere near the 1st base pavilion. The live music will continue throughout the game, between innings of the Legends game.
Acoustic and acapella soloists and groups must sign up using this form in order to be given a time slot to audition for either Friday or Saturday. Performers will be allowed to play up to two songs, or five minutes, and the music must be family friendly. The audition should be a good sampling of what fans would hear when they performed during a Friday Night Live set. There is no registration fee or age restriction. In order to create an acoustic ambiance without interrupting the game, amps and speakers will not be allowed. Microphones will be provided by the Legends. If chosen, performers will be notified Wednesday, April 25 as to which date they have been selected to perform on. The first date of Friday Night Live is Friday, April 27.
"Friday Night Live will add another element to a fan's experience at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Friday nights will no longer include just a baseball game, but a chance to listen to live music provided by local artists. We are excited to showcase some of the musical talent in the Lexington area," said Legends President/CEO, Andy Shea.
Performers that are chosen will be included in all marketing and promotional materials distributed by the Legends, leading up to their performance date. Everyone that performs will be given a ticket to the game and as well as a loaded value ticket to be used throughout Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
