Lewis Jr.'s Game-Sealing Triple Ends Showcase with 112-107 Birmingham Victory

ORLANDO, Fla. - Kira Lewis Jr. hit his second go-ahead triple in the last three games and propelled the Birmingham Squadron to a 112-107 win against the Stockton Kings on Thursday night at the Orange County Convention Center.
With the win, the Squadron finished 2-0 at this year's NBA G League Winter Showcase and completed the Showcase portion of the season with a record of 10-6, its best Showcase record ever.
Malcolm Hill netted 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting and recorded nine rebounds as well. Trey Jemison notched his fifth double-double of the season with 16 boards and 12 points. All Squadron starters scored in double-figures and off the bench, Landers Nolley II tallied a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Nolley hit a pair of free throws with 33 seconds remaining to put Birmingham up 107-106, the Squadron's first lead since the 4:00 mark in the second quarter. With the game tied at 107, Lewis Jr. hit a trey with six seconds to go to seal the game for Birmingham.
Colby Jones led the Kings (5-10) in scoring with 15 points and recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds as well.
The Squadron return to the court following the holiday break on Dec. 29 as they take on the Indiana Mad Ants at Gainbridge Fieldhouse with tip-off set for 5 p.m. The contest can be seen locally on My68 WABM or nationally on Tubi.
