Santa Cruz Warriors Fall to the Westchester Knicks in Winter Showcase Semifinals, 127-114

ORLANDO, FL - The Santa Cruz Warriors (11-5) fell to the Westchester Knicks (12-4), 127-114, in the Showcase Cup Tournament semifinals at the NBA G League Winter Showcase on Thursday afternoon in Orlando, FL. The Knicks have advanced to the 2023 Winter Showcase Cup Championship.

Two-way guard Lester Quinones led the Warriors with 30 points and added six rebounds and six assists. Forward Donovan Williams scored 21 points and guard Kendric Davis added 20 points in the loss.

The Knicks were led by guard Brandon Goodwin with 28 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Two-way guard Charlie Brown Jr. followed with 23 points, and forward Dylan Windler secured a double-double, notching 21 points and 14 rebounds.

The Knicks outshot the Warriors in the first quarter, shooting 54.2 percent from the field and limiting the Warriors to 36.4 percent shooting from behind the arc to finish the frame with a 37-32 lead over Santa Cruz. The Warriors continued to struggle and trailed by as many as 21 points in the second frame, allowing Westchester to end the half with a 71-59 advantage.

After a tough start to the game, the Warriors' offense fought back to cut the lead in the third quarter. A three-pointer by Williams with 8:42 left in the frame cut the deficit to three points. However, Davis picked up his fourth personal foul halfway through the period, forcing him to exit the contest. The Knicks took advantage of the shift in momentum to widen their lead and head into the fourth quarter ahead 99-85. Westchester continued to lead by as many as 20 points in the fourth quarter, and despite the return of key Warriors starters, Santa Cruz could not narrow the gap. The Knicks closed out the game with a 127-114 win over the Warriors, eliminating the Sea Dubs from the Winter Showcase Cup Tournament.
