ORLANDO - The College Park Skyhawks (10-6) fell to the Indiana Mad Ants (15-1), 106-104 , in overtime in the Showcase Cup semifinals on Thursday afternoon. The Skyhawks concluded the third Showcase Cup schedule having advanced further in the bracket than any year prior.
Despite leading for just under three minutes in the game and being down by as many as 17 points in the fourth quarter, the Skyhawks clawed their way back to even the score in the waning moments of the game and force overtime.
Hawks two-way guard/forward Seth Lundy led all scorers with 32 points (9-21 FG, 5-11 3FG) while adding 10 rebounds and two blocks. Chris Silva chipped in with 22 points and eight rebounds. Keaton Wallace added 19 points and nine assists.
In the first quarter, the Skyhawks fell behind to the Mad Ants to start the period before bringing the game to within one point at 16-15. However, the Mad Ants pulled away to end the first frame and led 28-18 after the first 12 minutes.
The Skyhawks, propelled by Lundy's 22 points in the second quarter, bested the Mad Ants 33-24 in the second frame to head into the locker room behind 52-51.
