WINSTON-SALEM, NC (JUNE 27, 2010) - After consecutive blowout losses, the Dash dished out some punishment of their own in a 13-6 thumping of the Salem Red Sox on Sunday evening at BB&T Ballpark. Ozzie Lewis hit two homers and drove in five runs as Winston-Salem won in the team's first home game in ten days.

Salem (1-3, 43-31) scored two runs in the first inning off Terry Doyle, but yielded a pair in the bottom of the inning on RBI hits by Seth Loman and Lewis.

Winston-Salem (2-2, 45-29) took its first lead in the second on a Brandon Short RBI single. Eduardo Escobar brought home two more with his fourth triple of the season to put the Dash up 5-2.

Red Sox starter Brock Huntzinger (6-4) started the third inning, but did not finish the frame. He gave up a leadoff home run to Lewis and a two-run shot to Justin Greene to give Winston an 8-2 lead.

Doyle (3-3) allowed two more runs in the fifth, but stuck around for six innings, the deepest start by a Dash starter in the second half of the season.

Lewis went yard again in the sixth inning with a three-run home run off William Latimer, scoring Jon Gilmore and Loman to make it 11-3 Dash.

After Salem plated a run in the top of the seventh, Winston scored two more in the bottom of the frame. Gilmore had an RBI single and Loman brought one home on a sacrifice fly to finish the Dash's scoring.

The Red Sox tacked on one more in the ninth to account for the final tally.

Doyle collected the win, while Huntzinger suffered the defeat in his worst start of the season. He allowed eight runs on nine hits in 2.2 innings.

Lewis hit two home runs in a game for the first time in his professional career, and his five RBI tied a career-high. Every Winston-Salem player collected a hit and all but one starter scored, Logan Johnson being the exception. The first five players in the Dash order had multi-hit games, as the team pounded out 17 base hits.

Winston-Salem goes for the series victory on Monday night when RHP Leroy Hunt (0-3, 5.95) makes his first career start against RHP Michael Lee (5-3, 4.71). First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the audio broadcast begins at 6:45 on www.wsdash.com.
