Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, announced today that the Ducks have reassigned G J.P. Levasseur to the Condors from Springfield in the American Hockey League. The move was preceded by G Timo Pielmeier's recall to Anaheim yesterday; the rookie remains with the Ducks. Levasseur will meet the Condors in Boise on their current road trip.

Levasseur, 23, spent last weekend with the Condors, going 2-1-0 with a 2.02 GAA and posting a.943 save percentage. Both of his victories came against the Victoria Salmon Kings in front of the hometown crowd, and in his debut with the club, he came less than two minutes away from a shutout, stopping 41 shots in the process. He followed that up on Saturday with a 36-save performance in a 3-2 win.

Loaned to Springfield on Dec. 14, Levasseur has compiled a 6-13-0 record, including one shutout with the Falcons. He has a 3.58 GAA and an.895 save percentage as well with Springfield. After spending most of training camp with Bakersfield and appearing in one preseason game against Stockton, Levasseur began the regular season with the Laredo Bucks in the Central Hockey League, putting up a 10-3-3 record with a 2.31 GAA and a.919 save percentage in 16 games. The former 7th round pick of the Ducks in 2005 was named the Goaltender of the Month for the CHL in November, 2009. Levasseur spent the entire 2008-09 season with Iowa in the AHL and split his rookie season between the AHL and ECHL in 2007-08.
