ESTERO, FL - For the third straight game the Florida Everblades overcame a two-goal deficit after 40-minutes to post a 4-3 regulation win. The Blades scored three goals in the third to beat Gwinnett for the sixth time in ten tries this season. The victory for Florida was their fourth in a row at home and their 18th victory in Germain Arena this season.

For the first time in three games the Everblades got the first goal of the game. Matt Duffy (5) fired a shot from the right point on the power play to put Florida up 1-0 9:12 into the first period. The lead would stand up until just under two minutes left in the period when Matt Francis fired in a shot from the right circle to tie the game. Drew Paris and Scott Mifsud registered assists on the goal and the first period would end deadlocked at 1-1.

The Gladiators dominated the second period of play. Although out shooting the Everblades by only a 10-9 count they outchanced Florida four to two. The Gladiators kept the puck in the 'Blades for much of the period getting goals from Daniel Sullivan (11) and Mike McLean (13). Florida was kept off the scoreboard on the other end by great play by Gwinnett netminder Danny Taylor.

Trailing 3-1 to start the third period, Florida wasted no time cutting the deficit to one goal with a Shea Guthrie goal just 46-seconds into the stanza. Phil Paquet blasted a shot from the point that Guthrie redirected past goaltender Danny Taylor into the net. Mathieu Roy (13) tied the game with six minutes remaining with a blast from the high slot that dribbled across the goal line. Benn Olson and Elgin Reid recorded assists on the Roy tally. At 17:02 Milan Gajic (12) gave the Everblades their first lead since the first period with help from Shea Guthrie and Brandon Buck. Gajic picked up a rebound on the side of the net and slid the puck past Taylor to cap off the 'Blades comeback.

The Everblades finish off their season-high, eight-game homestand this week versus Gwinnett on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Friday night is Direct Impressions team poster night for the first 5,000 fans through the gate and Saturday is the special Boston Red Sox jersey night. The jerseys will be auctioned off after the game for charity.
