New York Liberty News Release
The thermostat may show that it's winter, but today it suddenly feels like summer again. That's because the Liberty made its first move to suiting up for a new season. The team announced its 2006 regular season schedule today. New York will begin its 10th Anniversary season on May 20.
The 2006 schedule is highlighted by 17 games at Madison Square Garden. That's 17 times you can see Shameka Christon drain jumpers and Becky Hammon drive the lane. The Liberty will make its Garden debut on June 3 when Lisa Leslie brings her Los Angeles Sparks to town and will wrap up when the Washington Mystics and rising star Alana Beard pass through on August 13 - plus plenty of pulse-pounding action in between.
