Durham Bulls News Release

DURHAM, NC - The International League today announced Leslie Anderson has been added to the roster for the Triple-A All-Star Game in Buffalo, NY. Anderson, who replaces injured Charlotte outfielder Greg Golson, will start in the outfield for the IL in the midsummer classic taking place at Coca-Cola Field on July 11. This is the Cuban-born veteran's first selection to a midseason All-Star team.

After leading active batters in hitting for the first three months of the season, Anderson remains in the top 10 in the league in average. He currently ranks sixth in the International League with a .307 (81-for-264) mark. In his second full season with the Bulls, the Cuban slugger leads Durham in all major offensive categories (.307, 8 HR, 34 RBI, .360 OBP, and .447 SLG).

Anderson is in his third season with the Tampa Bay Rays organization, signing in March of 2010 after defecting from Cuba. Since joining the Bulls at the end of the 2010 season he has been a mainstay at the DBAP, compiling a .294 batting average with 42 doubles, 23 HR and 112 RBI in 219 games with Durham.

The first baseman/outfielder will join Bulls closer Dane De La Rosa on the IL All-Star squad. The game between International League and Pacific Coast League stars will be broadcast live from Coca-Cola Field on MLB Network, the American Forces Network, and the Triple-A All-Star Game Radio Network.
