Leos send pair to Ti-Cats; pick up second round pick

(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club officially announced today that they have traded import defensive back Markeith Knowlton along with the rights to kicker/punter Ara Tchobanian to Hamilton for the Tiger-Cats' second-round selection (9th overall) in tomorrow's 2008 CFL Canadian Draft.

Knowlton spent two seasons with the Lions after signing as a free agent prior to the 2006 season. He earned regular role in the Lions secondary last year recording 45 tackles, five knockdowns and a fumble recovery as well as two sacks in 17 regular season games.

The Lions now have eight selections in the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft:

1st round - fifth pick (5th overall) 2nd round - first and sixth picks (9th & 14th overall) 3rd round - second and sixth picks (18th & 22nd overall) 4th round - sixth pick (30th overall) 5th round - sixth pick (38th overall) 6th round - sixth pick (46th overall)
