
Barker Selected First Overall in the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft

Toronto, ON (April 30, 2008) - With the first overall selection in the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats selected University of Saskatchewan safety Dylan Barker.
Barker led Saskatchewan in tackles in 2007 with 53 and was second in interceptions with three. The native of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan was a First Team All-Canadian and a CanWest All-Star in 2006 and 2007.
Barker is the first defensive back taken with the number one overall pick since the 1993 draft when the B.C. Lions selected Patrick Burke from Fresno College.
