Scoring their runs on a home run and a double steal, the Lexington Legends captured a 2-1 victory over Savannah in the final game of a four-game series at Applebee's Park. Lexington starter Jordan Lyles allowed just three hits in seven innings while striking out eight batters and walking two. Savannah's Elvin Ramirez was equally good, allowing only one hit and no runs through six innings.

Leading off the bottom of the seventh, the Legends' Brian Pellegrini greeted reliever Chris Schwinden with a home run over the left field bleachers to put Lexington in front 1-0. Savannah tied it in the eighth on a two-out RBI single by Rafael Fernandez.

In the bottom of the eighth, Lexington's Marques Williams doubled. After Michael Diaz walked, pinch hitter Jay Austin reached on a fielder's choice as Williams moved to third. With Ebert Rosario at the plate, Austin broke for second. When the throw went to second, Williams took off for home and slid in safely to give the Legends a 2-1 lead.

Henry Villar (1-1) got the win in relief for Lexington. Patrick Urckfitz earned his first save by getting the last three outs after Villar walked the leadoff hitter in the ninth. Schwinden (2-1) was the losing pitcher.

The Legends begin an eight-game road trip Wednesday night at 7 p.m. against the Charleston, S.C. Riverdogs. After four games in Charleston, Lexington will travel to Savannah for four against the Sand Gnats.
