Published on July 13, 2011 under South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Lexington Legends News Release
There will be more than baseball talent on display during the Lexington Legends' homestand July 28-August 4.
The Legends and WLEX-TV will present "Lexington's Got Talent," a competition involving a variety of categories and age groups. Singers, dancers, instrumentalists, comedians and other creative entertainers -- magicians, mimes, baton, and animal acts, for example -- will compete for a $500 first prize. The winner will also appear on LEX 18 News at Noon.
"We see a lot of talent at the ballpark all summer and this is Lexington's chance to show it off," said Stephanie Fish, the Legends' director of community relations and ballpark entertainment. "I expect to see some great performances." Entries may be submitted through the Legends website (www.lexingtonlegends.com), by mail, or by bringing completed entry forms to the Legends offices at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Entry forms available for printing at lexingtonlegends.com.
Four or five contestants from each category will be selected to perform at Legends games during the July 28-August 4 homestand. A local media personality will choose a nightly winner, and those winners will move on to the finals August 4, at which a panel of celebrity judges will choose the winner of the $500 grand prize.
